Testimonial - Taniele and Joe
For Taniele and Joe Rowan, the best part about building a brand new home with Ausbuild was being able to select a home design to suit their lifestyle and block of land. After choosing a gently sloping 614sqm block in the leafy Eprapah community at Victoria Point, the young couple were keen to preserve as much backyard as possible. ''The Vermont design was perfect because it allowed us to have a big backyard but still gave us plenty of living space," Taniele said. ''We really wanted the house to fit the block and I think we've achieved that perfectly."
Another benefit of building their brand new four-bedroom, two-bathroom home was being able to choose a floor plan to suit their lifestyle. ''Our parents often come to stay and it's great because they have their own bedroom and bathroom, tucked away from us," she said.
After living in an older house for many years, the couple are happy they don't have to do any renovating. ''Because everything is brand new, we won't even have to do any maintenance for at least ten years, which gives us more time to spend with family and friends,'' she said.
Taniele said they also really enjoyed being able to put their own personal stamp on the interior of their home. ''It was great to sit down with Ausbuild's interior designer and discuss the colour scheme and fittings,'' she said. ''We got to choose everything including the tiles, carpet, taps, handles, kitchen cupboards, CaesarStone bench tops, and even the door knob on the shower!" ''When you buy an older home, you really inherit someone else's decor, so it was fun to put our personality into the place."
Taniele and Joe said they were really surprised how smooth the whole building process was with Ausbuild. ''Everyone had warned us that building a new home would be one of the most stressful things we would ever do, but we didn't have any problems at all," she said. ''It was actually a very enjoyable experience and our client liaison officer was so helpful whenever we had any issues we wanted to talk about."
The couple said they were also impressed with Ausbuild's follow up service, which included a six month maintenance check for any minor adjustments. ''The icing on the cake was that our home was finished early,'' she said.''It was due to be completed in mid-September, but we were able to move in at the end of July. ''That was a wonderful surprise for us because we had been living with family while construction took place - so it was fantastic to be able to move into our first brand new home early.''
